House Of Tudor

20. Edward VI (1537-1553)
King Of England (1547-1553)
He was the son of Henry VIII  and Jane Seymour
He helped to establish new schools notably the famous schools for London boys and girls called Christ's Hospital.

21. Queen Mary I (1516-1558)
Queen Of England (1553-1558)
She was the daughter of King Henry VIII and Catherine Of Aragon.
The reign of her brother, King Edward VI did strike Princess Mary from her Catholicism or self reliance. When the young King died, the Duke Of  Northumberland tried to prevent Mary's succession by declaring Lady Jane Grey queen. However, the attempt failed and Mary came to the throne in 1553. She was nicknamed bloody Mary because of  the heavy persecution she enacted and encouraged during her reign against those who denounced Catholicism.

22. Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603)
Queen Of England ( 1558-1603)
She was the daughter of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn
Popularly known as the virgin queen, she ascended the throne at 25 years of age, reigned for 48 years and died at 70 years. She was known for her tenacity and her resilience. During her reign, Britain attained her most prominent time in history as a result of the Queen's administrative qualities. She was sharp minded and quick witted in her dealings with the affairs of the State.
She executed her cousin on February 8, 1587 for treason, who was also heir to the throne, Mary Stuart, Queen Of Scots, after she was incarcerated on her orders, when she ran from Scotland to England seeking her help from her usurpers. She, however led England to a bloody but victorious battle with Spain, and England defeated the Spanish Armada in 1588. She was succeeded by the son of Mary Stuart,  Queen Of Scots, James Stuart also known as James I, upon her death in 1603.
