HOUSE OF YORK..

16. Edward IV (1442-1483)
      King Of England (1461-1483)

He was the son of Richard, Duke Of York and Cecile Neville. He seized the Crown from Henry VI(a Lancastrian) in 1461. Edward took Henry prisoner in 1465. He also killed Queen Margaret; Earl Of Warwick, his uncle; Prince Edward, son of Henry VI, the rightful heir to the throne and King Henry VI, perhaps was murdered by him too. He also put George, Duke Of Clarence, his brother to death.

17. Edward V (1470-1483)
      King Of England (1483)

He was the son of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville. He was found dead in the Tower of London in August or September of 1483. His uncle, Richard III,  Duke of Gloucester, became king in his place.

18. Richard III (1452-1485)
     Yorkist King Of England (1483-1485)

He was the fourth son of Richard, Duke Of York. When Edward IV died on April 9, 1483, he left his two sons in his custody. Edward V was only twelve years old. But on July 6, 1483, Richard crowned himself king and confounded the boys to the Tower Of London, never to be seen again!

HOUSE OF TUDOR

19. Henry VII (1457-1509)
      King Of England (1485-1509)

He was the son of Edmund Tudor, Earl Of Richmond and Margaret Beaufort. Through his mother  he was descended from John Of Gaunt, son of Edward III, and was therefore a Lancastrian. Through his father, Henry was descended from Owen Tudor, who had married Catherine Of France, Henry V’s widow. In 1485, Henry killed Richard III, whom he regarded as a usurper and took the Crown. He married Elizabeth, daughter of Edward IV, thus the union of York and Lancaster houses over whose rival claims to the throne had led to the War of the Roses, ensured the succession of the children by marriage.

20. Henry VIII (1491-1547)
      King Of England (1509-1547)

He was the second son of Henry VII and Elizabeth, daughter of Edward IV. He married Catherine of Aragon, his brother, Arthur’s widow, and only Mary I was her only surviving child. He annulled his marriage to her by 1533, and then married Anne Boleyn, a lady of the court. She gave birth to Elizabeth I. She was found guilty of adultery three years later and was executed. Henry then married Jane Seymour in 1536, and she gave birth to Prince Edward in 1537 but died during childbirth. In 1540, Henry married Ann Of Clares, a German princess but soon disliked her and annulled the marriage. Henry then married Catherine Howard, a member of aristocratic family, but the marriage collapsed. Again, she was found guilty of immorality and was executed in 1542. Henry married his sixth wife, and this time around, she survived him.
Six marriages had produced three living children but only one son, and he was very sickly. However, by his will in 1546, Henry settled the succession to the throne: first was Edward and his children. Second, Mary and her children; then finally, Elizabeth and her children.
