Edward VI (1537-1553) King Of England (1547-1553) He was the son of Henry VIII  and Jane Seymour He helped to establish new schools notably the famous schools for London boys and girls called Christ's Hospital. 21. Queen Mary I (1516-1558) Queen Of England (1553-1558) She was the daughter of King Henry VIII and Catherine Of Aragon. The reign of her brother, King Edward VI did strike Princess Mary from her Catholicism or self reliance. When the young King died, the Duke Of  Northumberland tried to prevent Mary's succession by declaring Lady Jane Grey queen. However, the attempt failed and Mary came to the throne in 1553. She was nicknamed bloody Mary because of  the heavy persecution she enacted and encouraged during her reign against those who denounced Catholicism. 22. 16. Edward IV (1442-1483)       King Of England (1461-1483)     He was the son of Richard, Duke Of York and Cecile Neville. He seized the Crown from Henry VI(a Lancastrian) in 1461. Edward took Henry prisoner in 1465. He also killed Queen Margaret; Earl Of Warwick, his uncle; Prince Edward, son of Henry VI, the rightful heir to the throne and King Henry VI, perhaps was murdered by him too. He also put George, Duke Of Clarence, his brother to death.    17. Edward V (1470-1483)       King Of England (1483)   He was the son of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville. He was found dead in the Tower of London in August or September of 1483. His uncle, Richard III,  Duke of Gloucester, became king in his place.  18. History depicts that there are traces of Paleolithic man in England. But he was usurped in the era between 2500-2000 BC by Neolithic man, and this man introduced a rudimentary agriculture, mined flints for tools, built fortifications and also established well worn lines of communication. The Beaker people were next in line to arrive. They were also known for their distinctive pottery thereby instituting the working of copper and bronze. However, the use of iron spread from Europe as early as  the 5th century B.C with the arrival of the Celts, whose culture soon dominated England. Still, little is known of the contemporary tribal organization. Cunebelinus (Cymbeline) were kings who flourished on the eve of the Roman Conquest, are shadowy and legendary figures which leave little to the imagination. Yet creative and insatiable desire for inquest. Powerful institutions and the religious sect of Druids are vague and little is known about them. Next came the Roman occupation of England ...

My, my, I love history. I have a knack for researching about the past and curious to know what happened before to bring us to the present. What really happened to the Assyrian empire? How did the Babylonians become world power in the era of B.C? How did the Medes and the Persians take over and subdue Babylon? Then the Greeks came with their mighty warrior Alexander The Great who conquered Europe and Asia! And of course the Romans who conquered the world and even Israel. What led to the fall of  the Roman Empire? The role of the Germanic tribes in the Roman  defeat. And then the Danes and the Vikings came along and forever changed history! Then the reign of the British monarchs are my most favorite part of European history. I was so intrigued by this genealogy that I did an  in-depth research and study of all the  British kings and queens that have ruled from time immemorial up until the present Queen Elizabeth II.
