George I (1660-1727) King Of Great Britain And Ireland (1714-1727) He was the son of Ernst August, Elector Of Brunswick-Luneburg commonly called Hanover, and Sophia, daughter of Frederick Count Palatine, and Elizabeth, daughter of James I Of England. He ascended the British throne as provided by the Act Of settlement (1701). 32. 26. Charles II (1630-1685)  King Of England (1660-1685) He was the second son of Charles I and Henrietta, Maria Of France. 27. James II (1633-1701) King Of England ( 1685-1688) He was the second surviving son of Charles I and became Duke Of York in 1643. He was Charles II’s   younger brother. James I (James VI Of Scotland)       James I (1566-1625)       King Of England (1603-1625)       He was the son of the Catholic, Mary Queen Of Scots, and Henry Stuart, also known as Lord Darnley, her second husband, both of whom were descendants of King Henry VII Of England.        He authorized the publication under his patronage of the authorized or King James Version of the  Bible in 1611. The reign of her brother, King Edward VI did strike Princess Mary from her Catholicism or self reliance. When the young King died, the Duke Of  Northumberland tried to prevent Mary's succession by declaring Lady Jane Grey queen. However, the attempt failed and Mary came to the throne in 1553. 16. Edward IV (1442-1483)       King Of England (1461-1483)     He was the son of Richard, Duke Of York and Cecile Neville. He seized the Crown from Henry VI(a Lancastrian) in 1461. Edward took Henry prisoner in 1465. He also killed Queen Margaret; Earl Of Warwick, his uncle; Prince Edward, son of Henry VI, the rightful heir to the throne and King Henry VI, perhaps was murdered by him too.
